Living Like Water

 

LEE & BAE (Booth B01) presents Living Like Water by Hyeryun Jung at this year’s HIVE Art Fair. In this experimental work, visitors measure pollution levels at specific points through a mapped waterway system, and the data is translated into organic visual imagery — continuously assembling and disassembling like a living organism — projected onto a large circular screen overhead. In the accompanying artist talk, Jung traces the journey from Laozi’s philosophy — “the highest good is like water” — to the unsettling reality of water as a threat to human survival. Hear firsthand the thinking and technical experimentation behind the work, and join a conversation that moves beyond anthropocentric perspectives to imagine new possibilities for coexistence — between human and nonhuman, life and technology, order and the unpredictable.
